SMU will again pay to produce a television show to showcase the program, airing on Fox Sports Southwest and CBS College. It will be called The Stampede after last season’s The Climb.

How can we pay for this but not pay for internal staff or do just a tiny bit of advertising for fball?

According to the SID, this TV program is why. Evidently, it is a huge part of whatever budget is left. It was mentioned that some ad campaigns are in the pipeline leading up to the season. I enjoyed "The Climb" last year but question whether it needs to happen again. I'm sure its great for the players and recruiting, but not sure how much it expands our visibility.

While there's a greater delay, I would think that improving recruiting will ultimately result in more butts in seats.

Well, less than a month away from the season. Hopefully this mysterious ad campaign will materialize soon.
