Hello all, UT Alumn here, been keeping up with PonyFans for a few weeks now. You all have a solid community around here. I will not be creating top-notch topics or anything, but I just wanted to let you all know that there's a 'Horn in the house. Why the SMU athletics interest? Well I don't wanna get into too much detail, but lets just say I relocated to Dallas from Austin. I'll still be traveling to Austin during the fall (season ticket holder), and I will be attending SMU athletic events whenever I can. I love college football, and sports in general. I'm excited for SMUs upcoming football season (and soccer)! I really hope ya'll (we?) stun aTm in that season opener! It will be a tough game, but SMU is hungry... and yes, all this SEC talk HAS TO BE a distraction for atm. I am hoping that Coach Jones and his staff can use atms current distraction to SMUs advantage. As everyone here knows, UT has a ton to prove this season. Sadly, I am extremely worried about our QB situation. No QB on the Forty Acres is the front runner Anyways, I am happy to be part of this forum. I am too young to have any hard feelings against SMU (SWC Texas/SMU rivalry) so that won't be a problem for me. If anything, I think it makes SMU even more likeable to me, knowing that SMU and Texas had a fierce rivalry back in the day excites me! Hook 'em and (Go Ponies? Pony up? Go Mustangs?)

Welcome to the board, utp@smu. I will occasionally read, "The Barking Carnival" to see what is going on with UT sports. The humor and writing is great and they have pretty good insight, from what I can tell.
GO MUSTANGS!

Welcome, glad to have you.
You wont find much love for UT here though. Please don't wear UT gear at SMU games.
We could use a lot more dual fans around Ford Stadium on game day.

Welcome from one of those UT haters. Don't worry, there are plenty of UT sympathizers to keep you company here at ponyfans. As a pre-SWC fan, take time to watch RednBlue's video at the bottom of his posts - one of the greatest SMU plays against UT ever. Looking forward to meeting you on the BLVD - and if you smoke cigars, maybe before then.

I read them all! Barking Carnival, Orangebloods, Burnt Orange Nation, and some forums as well. GiddyUp wrote:Welcome, glad to have you.

HA! I know better than to sport some burnt orange on game day at Ford Stadium. I'm glad SMU has some great looking gear that I can wear! Treadway21 wrote:Welcome from one of those UT haters. So many cool things about that play! Good ol Texas Stadium in its glory days! I'm not a hardcore cigar aficionado, but I do enjoy them on occasion, I can smell them already! Thanks for the warm welcome.

He made it clear he would be in Austin for game day. Maybe he can go to our bowl game if UT sits out again this year.

Are you saying that everytime we have a home game the Horns do too?
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
