That incident brings up a good question. a&m is a state funded school. As taxpayers of Texas how can they decide who can walk on state property and who can not? Any attorneys on the board care to respond?

There are a number of issues raised by your question but A&M is, in effect, a state agency. The agency commissioner or, in this case the President of the university, operate in accordance with laws enacted by the legislature, and typically are given authority to promulgate rules and policies concerning public access to agency property. I live next to the University of Texas at Austin, and I regularly see the UT cops haul off car loads of transients to the county jail who are then charged with criminal trespass for being on campus.

Are you sure those are not players who are let out temporaily on practice release programs?
