TCU Promo Videohttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fUXt3Mq_ ... ata_player
Actually a great video in my opinion. Very focused on the fans and the community...pretty smart Thoughts?
Re: TCU Promo VideoI'm not going to watch it and will just assume Barney is in it skipping around
Re: TCU Promo VideoNot bad I like the community theme.
Re: TCU Promo VideoThat's a good video. Agree good angle focusing on fans and FW.
Re: TCU Promo VideoIt pains me to say it, but that is a good video for the Horny Toads. They know how to draw the city into their program, a concept that we just don't seem to understand yet. Still can't wait to smack them around on the field this year.

GO MUSTANGS!!!!
Re: TCU Promo VideoI hope that guy cleans up the bowl of popcorn he spilled.
Join The Stampede > Join The Purple Revolution (what does that mean?)
Re: TCU Promo VideoPurple revolution is about the worst slogan ever, but the video is first class. Compare that to what SMU has produced and it just shows they are operating on a different level over there in FW.
Side note: I was in FW this weekend and overall the city doesn't have much going for it. There are nice nodes here and there and I get that it is different than Dallas, but I don't see how FW and TCU compare in anyway to Dallas and SMU. If we are selling this thing right, there should really not even be a thought in the recruits head when choosing between the two holistically. This would however require us to recruit Texas kids and kids with TCU offers which we seem to avoid like the plague. #NewLobCity
Re: TCU Promo Video
I agree. Comparing Sundance Square in Fort Worth to the Fair Park area shows Dallas' superiority. And the Seventh Street/Museum area to lower Greenville? No comparison,
Re: TCU Promo VideoThe one thing I like about the video is the fact that TCU understands that, if you are a small private school, you have to have community support for you to succeed. Look at USC, ND, Stanford, and TCU as an example. They all have community/area support and success....I have been saying SMU needs to obtain this in Dallas beyond just SMU support for years. We will need a marketing dept. to succeed. Our present group does a good job raising money, but I hope they are finally realizing we will have to sell SMU to Dallas to succeed in filling the stadium. Now they just need to "share the pie" and raise some more money for a marketing dept. It is going to take a lot of work, but just like Coach Jones is getting it done on the field, there are people out their with a plan who could get the marketing done and increase our attendance.
Re: TCU Promo Video
Obviously we both have our biases but for me Dallas is just too big and has too much East Coast feel. Everyone I know loves downtown FW (it's very safe), west 7th and the stockyards. I prefer Fort Worth over Dallas but that's why we choose to live in different places. I think Fort Worth can have a big advantage over Dallas for kids who grow up in smaller cities and don't want to be in a big city like Dallas. To each his own...
Re: TCU Promo Video
westexSMU, I have always been told, the thing that hurt SMU support more than anything was the Dallas Cowboys. Might be some truth to that. GO MUSTANGS!
Re: TCU Promo VideoJoe T's sucks....
Ft. worth smells.... I am an outsider....just being honest.... Dallas has become a far better city just in the 9 years I have been gone...major steps...impressed by the progress...
Re: TCU Promo Video
If the Cowboys hurt SMU support, why does it not hurt TCU support? I moved out of Dallas awhile ago, travel every year to Dallas and go to some sporting events, its amazing how many people travel there for Cowboys games, I have met many people through the years at the airport who are there to attend a Cowboys games and I always ask some questions about what they planning on doing. About 90% of them plan on going to a Mavericks game, 70% plan on attending a Stars game, 10% attend a TCU (that was recently) but I have never met anyone who said they were going to attend an SMU game. Most of them didnt know what, when or who at the SMU game.[/quote] Just one of the theories I have heard over the years. Bottom line, win win win and promote promote promote GO MUSTANGS!
