Just called to make a reservation in Memphis --- most hotels on or near Beale are booked including the Peabody. What is going on in Memphis that weekend ? Can't believe the SMU Memphis game would sell that many rooms on Friday night ! All near or close to 2 bills a night .....

There are a couple of fairs going on that weekend, but keep in mind the Peabody is the first place a lot of people look to stay at when coming into town. There is a nightlife downtown outside of Beale, so I can understand having a problem finding a place there.

Tried the Madison yet? Or maybe the Hilton, which is a little bit away from DT, but still practically a straight shot from there and to the Liberty Bowl.

new marriott courtyard downtown as well as a spring hill suites...both off court square.....westin is new, small....madison is nice, but pricey...there is a marriott downtown....poplar 240 zone is the new "hot spot" with a huge hilton there as well as a few others like hyatt place, homewood suites....older doubletree downtown as well, next door to the peabody...

Stay in Tunica. Short drive, casinos, decent rooms, and Charlie Daniels at the Goldstrike that night as well :-)

there is also a westin across the street from the forum and there is a days inn or something like that across from the peabody. It is right next to the rendevous. stayed there for HS prom.
