Payne Stewart's son, Aaron, had a great interview. Lots of SMU exposure thanks to Kelly Kraft. Congratulations to the young man. We will be seeing more of him in the future.
Giddyup was texting me while it was going on, as I was traveling today...great news and great pub for the WHOLE SMU athletic Department.
Damn that was a loooooong course though!
"At 7,760 yards, the USGA made Erin Hills the longest course to host a USGA championship in history. Yet 25 amateurs broke par last Monday during the first round of stroke-play qualifying. With the typical elite player now averaging almost 300 yards off the tee, courses would need to be stretched to more than 8,000 yards to fully challenge players with length. It's too bad the USGA is bringing the U.S. Open to this wonderful but overly long course in 2017."
