Re: Big 12 opts - BYU ND WV PitThere's a reason why that guy's writing in Tulsa.
Re: Big 12 opts - BYU ND WV PitESPN Blogger handicaps the Big 12 Expansion candidates with BYU his clear favorite and unsure about any more or who:

Re: Big 12 opts - BYU ND WV Pithe makes an argument for TCU, then turns around and makes the argument against SMU because of our enrollment...ummm, last I checked, we have about the same number of students. What a dildo.

Re: Big 12 opts - BYU ND WV PitI don't see the enrollment being a huge issue. The Dallas area would love to have SMU in a major conference and attendance would consistently be at 40K
Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: Big 12 opts - BYU ND WV PitWhy would ND even consider going to the b12-2? They could easily get into the Big10 which is a much better conference. So, if ND doesn't join the b12-2 then the chances of BYU joining seem to drop dramatically.
GO PONIES!!!
Re: Big 12 opts - BYU ND WV PitWe could be a "home" game in Dallas for all the other schools based on current attendance
Re: Big 12 opts - BYU ND WV PitDoes anyone else find it strange that none of the other major conferences seem to be actively doing anything? I can't imagine the B10 would let ND and Pitt go to the big12-2 without some discussions. ACC and BE have to be concerned about what could happen to their structure.
I suspect that there are many realignment conversations going on that are just not public. The eventual fallout should be interesting. GO PONIES!!!
Re: Big 12 opts - BYU ND WV PitFirst, no chance in hell ND goes Bevo 9.
Second, I don't think BYU wants anything to do with the Bevo 9. At this point it's a crapshoot. We certainly are as attractive and realistic a candidate as any other school when you get past the Bevo 9's Notre Dame-BYU wet dream. Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: Big 12 opts - BYU ND WV PitSMT- you forgot to add Pitt into that mix. Which, IMO would make it even more remote.
GO PONIES!!!
Re: Big 12 opts - BYU ND WV PitNotre Dame likely to say no
By Kirk Bohls | Monday, August 29, 2011, 09:30 AM Even though the Big 12 has reached out to the Irish as a possible replacement for Texas A&M should the Aggies bolt for the SEC as is widely assumed, Notre Dame, in all likelihood, is staying put as an independent, its athletic director just told me. “Our priority — and our clear priority — is maintaining our football independence and continuing to build our relationship with the Big East with our other sports,†Notre Dame athletic director Jack Swarbrick said Monday morning when asked if there was a viable chance his school could join the Big 12 now or in the near future. Notre Dame is also interested in pursuing a stronger relationship with the University of Texas. The two schools’ football programs are scheduled to play a four-game, home-and-home series, starting in 2015, but Swarbrick said there are no plans to make it an annual game. “I don’t know if it would ever be an annual game, but we do want to play more games with Texas and play them in more sports,†Swarbrick said. “Both schools are committed to athletic programs that have excellence.†Swarbrick told me that Notre Dame would never change conferences because a new location would supposedly offer an easier path to BCS bowls and a BCS championship. He also added that his school’s contract with NBC is “really important and critical to our future,†even beyond the football part of the equation. Swarbrick joked about all the rumors and wild speculation that has arisen out of talks that A&M has had with the SEC as well as that which cropped up last year when Nebraska, Colorado and Utah all joined new leagues. “One thing I can tell you from what I know last year,†he said, “almost none of the speculation was accurate.†Swarbrick declined to go too far down the road and reminded fans of college athletics that these universities evaluate not just sports factors but academic issues as well. “None of us have any idea what’s going on a year from now or five years from now,†he said.
Re: Big 12 opts - BYU ND WV Pitwhich according to an article someone posted last night means BYU prob a no too
