I believe that all of the niceties to T Boone and his wife could end up paying out. T Boone has influence with a number of the programs involved who would ultimately vote on such a matter.

As much as I hate the two horses - I have to say - if SMU cashes in and gets BCS - it was well worth it...

I'm tired of Big 12 people saying we can't sell out are own stadium. If Texas, Texas Tech,
Oklahoma, Baylor etc. were playing here on Saturday afternoons, we'd have no problem filling Ford Stadium.

Even NTCC would draw better than Northwestern, Tulane, UAB, Marshall, etc.

You have to have a regional affiliation or a large alumni base.

1. Solid footprint in Dallas TV market, leading to more exposure to TX recruits
2. Proven ability to make major capital improvements in a big hurry to meet whatever needs a conference requires
3. A team nationally recognized as on the rise and with an exciting future, getting legit coverage as a school with a BCS future

I'll give you a couple more:

4. Bagged a top 50 national recruiting class last year with an improvement expected this year, even with a bowl loss and .500 record
5. Location: besides the obvious perks of Dallas, being in the center of the country makes it relatively easy for teams (and their fans) to travel here from basically anywhere in the lower 48 states (sorry, HI & AK, you have only yourselves to blame).
