Reporter from NBC College Football Talk says its a matter of days or for sure before October 1st, that Oklahoma will jump and will force or allow UT, TT and Okie State to follow in a package of 4 to make it the Pac 16 and that the Longhorn Network will be negotiated and melded into a Pac 16 deal....

I don't think UT expected this to happen or did they because they really want to go independent. The breakup would then leave them independent which is what some say they wanted anyway.

Oh, I bet they had a clue. They almost went that direction the last time around. Don't think they had many plans already drawn up for what was going to happen.

In the national eye it appears A&M broke up the B12 by leaving. Texas gets to go to the P12 and keep the LHN. Maybe, just maybe all this was setup by Texas a long time ago so that the national perception would place the fault on someone other than them for breaking up the B12.

Nah, they got put in a position they never saw coming. A&M out maneuvered them.

Basically they just cribbed the Statesman story posted in another thread and added some obvious hyperbole. No new news.

Still could be good for us...combine leftovers of big 12 with best of MWC and Cusa...

AQ conference

SMU and Houston along with top remaining Mountain West teams will join the remaining members of the Big 12 to form what will ultimately become the weakest of the four superconferences. But we'll have our AQ status and will have survived. We may carry along TCU too to the new Big 12 as it makes a lot more geographic sense for them.

Pac 10. They never had serious interest as an independent. This way they can shed Baylor.

Missouri will have options as will Kansas (BE, ACC). Will KU be forced to take K-State with them?

Iowa St. is screwed and so is Baylor. Not sure what they could thumb their noses at.

We talked about this being most likely scenerio last time...

it makes a lot of sense to combine all remaining and it would be great for us...we could compete immediately...

No, that's not what I meant. I meant Baylor wouldn't have options like the BE or ACC. They would have to join us in some conference. Be it CUSA or a new formation of the B12 conference. Screwed as in they don't necessarily have a seat at the BCS table anymore unless it goes to 5 super conferences.

I'd be happy to see them in CUSA.
