Can someone get Orsini to stop talking?!

Downright embarrassing and stupid to lobby for a AQ bid then get shellacked by an AQ team. Lobbying is what you do AFTER you play well in these kinds of games! Shows the reason we've struggled the last 25 years. Our admin thinks it's still 1980 when notre dame and SMU meant something nationally.

Winning the Hawaii bowl doesn't even impress Iowa state. We lost at home to ARMY after having a month to prepare.

Can someone get him to stop scheduling Big 12 teams we can't hang with. We wouldn't be dealing with a QB controversy and an embarrassing loss in an opener had we been playing some MAC or Sun Belt team.

I think this game was scheduled before Orsini.

I thought Orsini was the one who scheduled this one, golden?

Either way, he should have been fired years ago.

just bad timing. if we could have caught the Aggies of 2 years ago it might have been different. timing is everything. keep scheduling these games, we can't just hide in CUSA.

No, we should have had a D1AA team or a MAC team he first game. Every year it team the Run and Shoot offense about 2 or 3 games to warm up.

If we do that we will never get national cred, because once conference play starts it gets harder to schedule a tamu or ut

You don't have to schedule a suicidal opener to get national cred, our main rival is a team that has been consistently ranked the last 5 years and finished the last season at #2, we'll get plenty of national cred if we beat them (see Baylor-TCU from Friday night).

A&M wasn't a nationally ranked team when this game was scheduled.

At least we could have repositioned the game for later in the year. Like maybe 2 or 3 weeks into the season.

True but the talent gap is the same as then, they still have the bigger, faster athletes and a significant homefield advantage. They would have been a handful even if their coaching hadn't gotten significantly better. Don't know why we needed to open with them.

I'm doubting it was our choice to open against them. More goes into then simply not wanting to play a certain team on a certain date.

Might have been moved for TV/exposure purposes. We opened on Sunday the last 2 seasons, had no other football programming competition.

I felt better about the TTech loss than this one. At least we were competitive in that game. We are a Looooooong way off from being BCS busters.
