McDermott is not the answer

he is a senior already and he throws side arm. Should have put Padron back in for at least another series or two in the third quarter. Maybe June didnt want to get KP injured and let McD stay in there and take the lumps. Dont think McD did enough to win the job by any means.

What about the freshman QB from Los Angeles? I guess you wait to see if Padron or McDermott can rack up some wins in this next stretch of games before going to the future. It's definitely early to go to a true freshman.

True, plus he holds the damn ball forever. I don't think I saw him ever try to tuck and run or throw it away. If he did hold out Padron so he wouldn't get shellshocked it makes sense. We have 3 easy ones coming up to get Padron's confidence back.

I agree. We just have to pretend that next week is the season opener for Kyle. I will just think of it as pulling the goalie.

He actually had a couple nice ones where he scrambled around, one he stepped up behind the rt tackle and hit a big first down in stride. But he would need to speed it up. I say F it. Maybe he's the guy for now. He hasn't made the mistakes that the other "answers" have made. You can't ask the rest of the offense to play for someone who kills them on the reg.

KP needs to start the next 3 games. They should be easy wins and easy enough games for him to get his groove going. If he still sucks after those games, then forget it.

chickenshlt move by JJ. how many games did we have to stick with BLM's bullcrap? He couldn't do anything to get pulled. KP throws 2 picks on his first 4 throws, and while i don't disagree with benching him and putting in McDermott, why the hell was he not out there in the 2nd half when the game was basically already decided?

way to create problems for this team. we were playing the #8 team in the country, that should have and did, kill us.

Kyle was on a short leash. jJ took a bunch of snaps w/ the 1s this week. I don't think it's as big a problem as it seems.

i agree, my only hope is JJ saw we were outmatched and decided to not have KP take the beating physically. Otherwise he should have gotten another chance after settling down.

its a problem because McDermott has no future as a senior and honestly isn't that talented. Nice backup, decent bus driver, but not the answer. KP did not have a bad enough year last year to be on such a short leash. Maybe the leash is part of the problem.

agreed. what is the point of playing a senior qb that is, by all estimations, best case equal to padron? i hope this was a move to get kyle more motivated. if it is a serious ploy to create a qb controversy, that is just stupid.

KP has Happy Feet and JJ made the right move sitting him.

McDermott and Line put up a quick 14 points and the game was competitive.

It was the STUPID [deleted] attempted on-side kick that was a killer.

Maybe JJ was saving his QB from further destruction. BLM was shell shocked as a Fr and never recovered. JJ may have been trying to spare Padron and put some fire in his belly. JJ has been around and knows players. JJ may be looking for the goal at the end of the season and not a desperate attempt at glory in a difficult situation.

JJ has made the right moves so far and he knows these players far better than most Pony fans. We will see what happens this week.

only thing I can think of would be that's the quickest path to Preston as the starter next year
