Reality Check...

Reality check to all of those ponyfans about to jump.

We just lost to the #8 team in the country and a non-conference opponent.

Sure, it would have been nice to come away from college station with a win, but let's not confuse what would be incredibly awesome, with what is most likely to happen. The good news is we are undefeated in conference play. Our real goal this season should be to win C-USA, which is not impacted 1 bit by this game. A loss to UTEP this saturday would be a MUCH bigger disappointment, than this lopsided matchup. JJ has created a qb controversy now for whatever reason, but I'm hoping we get to see more than 4 throws from the guy who has really helped turn this thing around. We can still run the c-usa table and continue the rebuilding process. It honestly makes me crazy how much people go overboard when we lose to a top team on the road

Not win just be competitive. Stay within 2 TD's. Whoever said that we would be BCS buster in 2 years needs a reality check (and more than one poster said that).

ok well when they get an automatic 14 points right off the bat, starting drives in the redzone, that throws things off a bit as well. We kicked an unnecessary onside kick that gave them another short field. That's 21 of the 32 points right there.

Add in the fact that we were playing with our BACKUP qb for some unknown reason, and it shouldn't be too shocking that we lost by 32.

Let's regroup and see how we look against UTEP this week before everyone goes too crazy and jumps off the bandwagon. A&M is a damn good team that hung with LSU for most of the cotton bowl last year and returned everyone except for 3 starters.

The lack of competence the whole team displayed was inexcusable. No one looked like they were prepared to win. Mason could have called something other than soft zone to at least try and make A&M uncomfortable and June could have sacked up and went for it on 4th down when were we down 20-14 on A&Ms side of the field. Gotta take risks to win games like this.

But not stupid, narcissistic risks - like "they will think i am brilliant when we cover this really poorly timed onside kick"

The execution was comically poor but I liked the call, we did respond well after they went down and scored (blocked the XP, scored a TD, got a stop and were driving in plus territory with momentum).

We spotted them 21 points with the two interceptions and that WTF onside kick. Even if we don't MAKE more plays, the elimination of those makes the score tied at halftime. Do we win? No, probably not ... but the score isn't nearly as lopsided as it seems.

Are you guys serious...even if Kyle doesn't throw 2int's and give them great field position from the botched on sides kick...A&M still scores this 21 points, they just would have had to drive a little longer to do so. They could do anything they wanted on offense and we couldn't stop them.

and I can see Houston doing more of the same. Looked like a video game. Gray, Fuller, Swope. Repeat. Repeat again only with Christine.

I wasn't expecting a win, but was expecting to be more competitive and have a lot fewer mistakes. Let's hope we iron out all the many issues before next Saturday. I am sure the film review sessions this week will lead to plenty of opportunities to get better!

What i took from the game was we moved the ball at will most of the first half in one of the toughest places to play in the country against a legit top ten team.As for every one crying about the def we where just out maned plus the 3-4 doesnt seem to work to well against teams l8ike aggie great for our conf but tough against running backs like aggie had im no worried at all about the rest of the year.I am still planning on getting that big [deleted] tatto of S M U on my chest this year.GO PONY GO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
