We spotted them 3 possessions starting at smu 6, 45, 31 for their first 20 pts. Those are supposed to be the early ones where we can bend but not break and feel them out- where if they start from their 20 they are less likely to go for it.

Do that against Rice and we probably lose. It doesn't matter we closed it to 20-14. We still hadn't had a chance on D.

Getting behind the 8 ball early like that affects every part of the game. No throw in a backup qb.

No our D didn't seem ready, but 25 made 2 outstanding catches that could have been incompletes. We were kept off balance by the qb rollouts. And ATM has the best RB backfield in the nation.

No9? I dunno, but we didn't match up well, or couldn't adjust. Oh, and we spotted them 20pts.

By the way - Rice looked way better vs UT then we looked vs A&M. of course - A&M will beat UT b three touchdowns - but just saying you should not have Rice in the easy win column.

Christmas in September. Yes, there is no way to come back against the #9 team spotting them that many points. Just an awful start to a big game. I can't remember the last time we had a turnover in our favor of any kind going back to last year.

They had three fumbles all recovered. Give us one (like on the punt)
