Historical Perspective on JJ & KP

I've read enough comments on this board after the A&M debacle questioning June Jones and Kyle Padron. Some have argued that June is not the right person to lead this program and others have gone as far as saying we need a Ramon Flanigan type to QB this team. Sunday was a beating and Padron did not look good. I will admit both of those facts, but I think we need to compare Padron to Flanigan and June to his predecessors if we are going to look at all of this fairly.
First let's look at JJ. In his three seasons, JJ has won 16 games at SMU. Bennett won 18 games in six years, Cavan won 22 in five, and Rossley won 15 in six. I believe by the end of this season, June will have the best record at SMU post death penalty. I'm not saying he's perfect, but those who want to run him out of town need to relax because, as we have seen, it can get worst. Further, if the man who is known for turning around programs cannot get it done here, who else will want the job?
KP has been horrid the last three games he has played. That being said, we again have to look at his numbers compared to the one QB I have seen mentioned here a couple of times the last two days--Ramon Flanigan. As a starter, Kyle has won 12 games in a season and a half. The team has won 15 games. During Ramon's six years on the Hilltop, SMU won a total of 20 games. I understand that he did not start all six seasons he was here and was hurt a couple of years, but the fact of the matter is that KP has outperformed Ramon both statistically and in wins. This is the best apples-to-apples comparison because Ramon ran the RnS five of the six years he was here.
