Don't worry, Baylor will surrender faster than the French. It is kinda fun though to see the Big 12 and SEC simultaneously being held by the balls by a school considered irrelevant to both conferences.

While it's nice that Baylor is now squawking when it's their own future on the line, I am reminded of a little saying:
First they came for the Methodists,
but I did not speak out because I was not a Methodist.
Then they came for the Christians,
But I did not speak out because I was not a Horny Toad.
Then they came for the Owls,
But I did not speak out because I was not a nerd.
Then they came for me,
But no one was left to speak out for the Baptists.

What is curious is that Baylor gave written approval of the Aggies' adios earlier...the real catalyst is UT/OU/OSU/TT lining up to take the last parachutes. The 'provisional acceptance' by the SEC is a 'not so fast' response to Baylor reading the tea leaves and becoming an SMU in major conference relevancy...
It is about to get harder, much harder to compete again. BTW, great jab at the French and Baylor in one sentence!

Baylor should be calling Iowa State to get them to threaten legal action as well. I can't believe Iowa state isn't doing it on their own. They must have been assured a save landing place by someone.

The tacit idea of playing fair and helping your buddy ( even if both are in the same boat ) is over...ISU has few options, but doesn't want to upset the other 'players' that have a place to go with the hopeful thought that they (ISU) will be grafted into a conference again as they were in the Big 12. I don't see that happening, and neither does Baylor ( thus the threatened legal action ). The grand idea of conference loyalty is as archaic now as $ 1.00 gasoline...and I miss both.

I guess Baylor figured out they don't have a governor that is an alumni

You know all these machinations can make the head hurt. Do the Longhorns head east or west? What do the Okie fraternal twins do? What about TT? While all the other conferences seem to be considering 14 or 16, the Big Ten (12) has been silent. What raids are they contemplating? The BE and the Big XII appear to be the carcasses being picked over. Does the Big Ten make a play for Mizzou vs. the SEC? Then if the ACC plucks up UT what other gems do they go after? Then there are the Big XII, BE toaster leavings. What happens to them? Then you have the name non-BCS universities: BYU, ND, Navy, Army, AFA, SMU, Rice, Tulane and now Boise. What happens to them? I really think that schools like Memphis, UTEP, ECU, UCF, are probably out of luck when it comes to the current shuffle which is a shame because each of these schools have a passionate fan base.
