If CUSA wanted to make a play, now is the time. Baylor, Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa State, AFA and Boise are probably ripe to be picked and USF, TCU, Louisville and Cincy might be lured back if the right deal can be made and the right pieces are together. Get Fox and ESPN in a bidding war and put together a conference that makes sense. The four BE teams might need to wait for one team to exit and then declare a breach. But SMU, UH, AFA, Tulsa, Boise, Baylor, TCU, and USM with KU, KSU, ISU, Memphis, USM, Louisville, Cincy, USF, UCF could be a decent conference. UTEP, Tulane, UAB, ECU, Marshall left out in the cold which might not fly.

I believe you would lose all the BCS points for those schools, meaning CUSA is still not an AQ. And why would any of them want to move over? They are already in a shaky conference to begin with, I don't think that's going to stabilize anything for them.

Though after the shake out, something slightly resembling this could occur, although I doubt it will be in CUSA.

I would keep ECU. In a state with solid economic and population growth. Nice to have a footprint there. Memphis other than perhaps BB doesn't add anything. Same with USM.

You don't lose the BCS points...otherwise why would the Big East be so interested in TCU, or the MWC in Boise?

So basically if CUSA were to invite those teams and they accept we (CUSA) gain AQ status?

It was my understanding that if say the B12 remainders wanted to stay the B12 and add teams from CUSA and other places they may be able to retain their AQ status, but not the other way around. TCU to the BE added to their status, and Boise State would have eventually counted towards the MWC status, though that's a moot point now with BYU, TCU and Utah jetting off to bigger and better conferences. Again, that's my understanding, I don't claim to be an expert. What's the correct ruling?

BCS points go with team that had them....TCU moving to big east gives them a ton of extra BCS points, otherwise they may have lost status...

If Boise State and TCU formed a two team conference - would they be an AQ conference?
