ESPN's Pat Forde has a new article which is quite entertaining, including this comment among others:

"Nobody is looking out for the common good. Nobody is in charge. Those with the most juice are exerting it solely on their own behalf, with disregard for all that is unique in college sports: tradition, geographic sense, nonrevenue sports, collegiality, regional flavor."

Steers get fat and corn feed Steers get slaughtered. Can anyone name another school that has done more to destroy college football that the whorns? Really, what other school can you think of that has been so despised by its conference parters than Texas? I am not going to even waste my time on that idiot in charge of the former Big 12--if he even had tiny balls this would never had happened. If SMU plans any, any interaction with any conference, involving Dan BOO-BOO, it will do so over my dead body!

You are right. However - we would take that offer in 10 seconds. To do otherwise would be suicide. Much like the federal govt - the days of running perpetual deficits are over. We are on borrowed time.
