Sept. 8, 2011
NEW YORK, NY, and IRVING, TX - CBSSports.com College Network, the leader in the management, distribution and monetization of official collegiate athletic websites, announced a five-year extension of their digital partnership with Conference USA. As part of the extension, CBSSports.com College Network will facilitate the Conference USA Digital Network, a 100 percent digital network which will aggregate content from C-USA's official site and all 12 member school sites onto one platform.
Powered by the CBSSports.com College Network, the newly created Conference USA Digital Network will provide fans with access to live and on-demand audio and video of select C-USA athletic events each year, including football, men's and women's basketball, baseball and numerous Olympic sports contests. The Conference USA Digital Network is a true conference-wide digital network with CBSSports.com and will serve as the model for future interactive partnerships with other major college conferences.
"Being partners with Conference USA and each of their 12 member schools gives us the ability to tap into a tremendous amount of synergy across the conference and create ground breaking new platforms," said Patty Hirsch, Senior Vice President and General Manager, CBSSports.com College Network. "The Conference USA Digital Network will provide students, fans, and alumni of C-USA athletics a great way to follow all their favorite action while at the same time offering sponsors an engaging vehicle to reach this highly targeted audience."
"We have really been looking forward to launching our Digital Network," Conference USA Commissioner Britton Banowsky said. "Over the past few years, we have focused on capturing all of the quality content related to our athletics programs. Through this partnership, we are now in a position to make it available to all fans on a great digital platform. It positions us very well for the future."
The Conference USA Digital Network will allow all 12 C-USA institutions to offer a subscription package on their official athletic site featuring live and on-demand video from school specific athletic contests and events. An additional subscription package aggregating all C-USA video content will be promoted and sold across all 12 C-USA school sites in the CBSSports.com College Network. All video content and subscription packages will be promoted on the newly redesigned official site of Conference USA (conferenceusa.com), and the official athletic sites of Conference USA member schools.
