This is from two years ago. But, holy smokes, that guy is an incredible kick blocker. Unprecedented, really.

http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2010 ... eer-blocksblocking kicks in the nfl is extremely rare but margus may have a nice niche there.

most NFL lineman are 6'5" and taller so his ability to break through the line and block kicks would be greatly reduced

Remember 2 years ago UTEP was scared of him (he had either already blocked one of their kicks or was coming off a multiple blocked kick game) and tried a fake FG for which we were prepared. I think that everyone in the stadium was certain it would be a fake because of how well Margus had been doing on kicks.

Need him to work on that swim move so he can do that more often while playing at DE. Loved the kick going off his head!
Go Ponies!

would love to see a video of all his blocks together. He's had a few that were returned for TD's if I remember right? Rice game?

He's like Lawrence Taylor on the original Tecmo Bowl

That Rice game was the best because at that point we all expected a blocked kick by Margus...sure enough, he blocks it and McCann runs it back for a td as clock expires at half

Actually Sterling Moore blocked the kick at the end of the first half that McCann returned, but hunt did block a fg and an extra point in that game so your point is mostly valid.

That is what I was thinking. That was one of the few that Margus did not block, but if I recall from the pictures, there were 2 or 3 blockers holding Margus back and that opened up a lane for Moore.

My bad, I'm willing to bet Margus somehow affected the play though

I am picturing Moore coming in from the outside and diving right to left in front of the kicker. Entirely possible that their scheme was so focused on hunt that someone did not account for Moore I suppose, but I do not think it was the case that hunt physically opened up a lane if that is what you meant.
