"Conference realignment, which once appeared to be an inevitability, has reached a holding pattern. The threat of legal action by Baylor and other Big 12 universities has stymied Texas A&M’s move to the Southeastern Conference, reviving the chance that the Big 12 can save itself." ......

Bottom line for the former Big XII is that Texas and OU need to wake up...remember the days of the SWC and Big XIII and realize the two of them can play their red River rivalry game (in most years) with the conference championship and BCS bowl appearance at stake. If they schedule hardily enough in the non-conference, a "one loss" runner up might even get a 2nd BCS bid for the conference.

Texas could continue playing A$M every year, OU could try to renew their Nebraska rivalry...they can both look to nearby games like Arkansas or LSU...AZ, ASU, CO, Utah and of course BYU may have openings

It's just going to be tough for these guys knowing that Big 10 and SEC schools are making more money on their TV deals
