I personally cannot justify MD taking the majority of the snaps the rest of the way based on his performance last name. sure it was only one game to make that conclusion, but he's gone after this year and I don't think he has the necessary skills to take us to an 7+ win season. He made some very nice throws last night, but was VERY inconsistent. I would prefer JJ either stick with Kyle or give CP a chance...

I would prefer the rotation of JJM and KP until one of them really steps up and takes over.

No CP unless the season totally tanks and we can bring him in the last few games. I say we stick with JJ next week to see if he can catch on and elevate his game. I'm sure both will get snaps and we can see who should be playing. Wouldn't hurt to give Kaiser a few snaps as well.

If Kyle isn't going to be our guy, I'd like to see Conner get some PT. If June thinks Kyle still has the chance to "get it" then he's got to be given more than two plays a game. Either/Or, come on June.

no reason to blow a RS unless he has quickly picked up the offense and has shown to be MUCH better than the 2 guys we currently have available as 1 and 1a.

Let's see if McDermott shows improvement these next 2 games or whether JJ starts alternating the QBs. Bottom line is that we need to be more productive on offense these next 2 weeks

McDermott is a senior, so next year we'd have Kyle who (potentially) can't cut it and a red shirt freshman who has never thrown a pass as the back-up? I say if Kyle can't run the offense, get Conner some experience now so we aren't throwing 2012 away. If Kyle might learn and improve, get him the f in so he can be evaluated.

let's all remember SMU is 1-0 in CUSA play with a stated goal of returning to the championship game. I can't imagine we are going to see a true FR QB when we have an experienced Sr and Jr backing him up...at least not unless we are eliminated early from winning CUSA west

I finally like what June has done a little more with the offense, it is 2011 and we finally have signals that we can relay into our QB and get the offense more of an identity with establishing a sense of urgency and tempo...which ultimately I think will benefit our entire offense...

that being said, where is the experience coming from in regards to JJMcD? CP isn't to far behind JJMcD as far as experience(playing experience, not years in this R&S offense) and if June thinks KP isn't the guy, dont waste this season with JJMcD, he obviously couldnt handle a below avg team in UTEP...KP in my opinion is far and away our guy for right now. Is he going to make mistakes, YES, everyone will. Last night, JJMcD made some great throws on 3rd down but was very inconsistent

... I do not know what June is thinking! I honestly don't, how can we judge KP on 2 bad series against the number 8 team in the country in their home opener, in a tough as heck enviornment (I've been told you could feel the stadium move a bit when the AGS started to sway) crazy...... but no excuses he made a couple mistakes early, but the pulling and not putting back in and the benching of yesterdays game as well in my opinion was completely undeserved.(Also, I'd like to ask if it is fair enough for us to judge JJMcD after the 2 games we have seen with him as our QB? What are yall's thoughts? IF you disagree with me I would like to know why) ....i don't know if it's fair at all, but based on the short leash both are on, I'd say it is....

All in All we are 1-1... exactly where I thought we would be at this point in the season, and 1-0 in C-USA. Glad I am not a coach, but I hope June figures this out soon, we have potential, but reaching that potential is dependant on June, his staff, and then his players...Maybe June is doing this QB situation to push KP to his potential and be more consistent? Who Knows...God Bless

And I am being serious. June has made it clear about what he has in Kyle. All of this, in my opinion, is to "learn" Kyle some stuff.

If he doesn't go back to KP by TCU, I'll be shocked.

I really don't care at this point who it is, although if I had my choice I would pick KP if for no other reason than him having another year of eligibility left compared to JJ, but we need to pick someone now and and ride with him. If we have any chance of beating TCU, UCF, UH, So. Miss and even Tulsa, we need one of the two to step up now. Let either KP or JJ tune up with Memphis and NW St. and get them confident going into TCU. If both teams are 3-1, I'm betting the environment at Amon will be more electric than Kyle Field, so that guy needs to be ready.

Offense was just abuse on the eyes, Willis trots in and promptly leads the team to 8 TD's going 27-29 for 450 yards. Okay, exaggeration by a little bit, bit it was still a very cool example what *could* happen.

Jones likes McDermott's cool demeanor. He also mentioned the lights really affected the wide receivers' being able to pick up the ball which made McDermott look bad on some throws. Let's give him some leeway.......
