I am wondering if Kyle is completely healthy. Why would you pull your starting QB and then not put him back in a subsequent game that is on the line? Maybe his foot/ankle never completely healed. Maybe he is still having trouble planting his feet, thus causing a lack of accuracy.

It just appears there is more to this than his being rattled by the atmophere at TAM.

Cannot be a "hurt" thing. They put him in for 2 plays and they were both QB runs.

I was watching him. He was very subdued and would stand alone most of the time. Only person I saw him speaking with was Loftus which I found ironic. Then Jones had him start doing some signals to JJM. He picked up a little after his TD and when Jones told him he was going in he was pumped. Runs on the field and gets in the huddle only to be replaced by JJM before he calls a play. I really think that Jones was afraid that if KP made a mistake with the ball on the SMU 2 yard line that his (KPs) confidence would be gone so he put JJM back in. From then on I think it was just as Jones has indicated. The situation just was not right for Padron to take over.

I would not be surprised at all if Padron did not start this next week or at least go in very early in the game and maybe not come back out as long as he performs adequately.

I expect McDermott to start, but I would not be surprised to see them alternate series. Pressure will be on these guys to lead a scoring drive every time they start a drive

I don't know what the point of all this is. I was hoping it was a motivational technique - but apparently it goes beyond that. JJ Mc D is not the answer. The guy makes just as many mistakes as Padron, and he's already a senior. This experiment is pointless. I'd be happier if if Kaiser or Preston were thrown out there at this point. I'm really concerned for this year.

Is it 2013 yet?

at least we are putting in an experienced Senior rather than the traditional true freshman phenom. I just hope Padron doesn't pull a McCown next year

that really would be bad timing since we are going to have to replace the entire starting OL...not that we don't have some good looking young guys waiting for their opportunity

we've gotten quality linemen that will fill in. they should be decent replacements if not upgrades from what we have right now. I was referring more to having a legit qb everyone can agree on.

Over and over again this board talks (although you do not use the word) how "fragile" Kyle is in the confidence department. You speculate this is why he is slow releasing the ball, does not get the offense rolling, has not developed as expected, and this is perhaps why JJ did not put him back in because he does not want to make this an even bigger problem. Seems odd that he should be the starter if he is so lacking in confidence and needs to have his psyche so protected. What did JJ say last week about quarterbacks having to be accountable.

I thought he was extremely engaged on the sideline. He was high giving teammates, giving signals to JJ and waiting to get some PT. Thought he handled himself a lot more maturely than last week, which had to be tough.
