Calallen- Your mission

OK. First thank you for trying to assist with my traffic jam problem yesterday. Your mission this week is to let me know, on Friday, whether or not they are going to close I-30 in Garland (or anywhere else for that matter)on Saturday. If they are, I want detailed directions on how to get to Dallas from Rockwall without the use of air or water transport. You seem to be well versed in obtaining this type of info so I am counting on you.

You're welcome...I'll get you the road info for I-30 from the border to Dallas, and alternate routes as needed. Hopefully you'll get to the 'Vard on time next week.

By the way. Just so you know my trip back Saturday night was not uneventful, I was pulled over by the Texas Highway Patrol and warned for having a burned out license plate light bulb. Luckily I was on speed limit cruise control and had not been partaking of any adult beverages.

Maybe a good thing that you didn't get to the 'Vard, then

Are you sure you know who I am? I dress about 5 people to look like me and scatter them around the area.

We don't take kindly to Arkies coming into Texas with License Plate lightbulbs busted out. Keep movin' and don't stop 'til you get to the Border

Trooper was very nice. Asked if I had been to the game and who won. Then as he was finishing up asked me if Padron had gotten to play. BTW, my Arkansas license plate is Ponyup 1, and I have a helmet decal on the tailgate. That should give me a pass in Texas shouldn't it?

OK, Calallen, you are up. I need a report. You can just verify for me. If what I am finding is correct, there will be a lane closing in Rockwall County and some slow down in the Garland area also but the Interstate should be open all the way through. I just need to be sure there is not going to be a complete shut down again. Thanks.

Thanks. That is the site I found and wanted to be sure. Hopefully I can get there this time, and my license plate is lit up.

Good luck. So long as the state's telling the truth, looks like your trip will be a lot better this time.
