Now to Northwestern State

While the UTEP game was not what we were expecting, the bottom line is we are 1-0 in conference play. With Northwestern State coming up, I'm expecting that we use this game as a coming out party and iron out our kinks. Honestly, I think Padron is still our best QB option, but I don't give a rip who takes the snaps as long as we have more than the opposition on the board at the end of the game.

Current season prediction after 2 games:

A&m: L
UTEP: W
NW St: W
Memphis: W
TCU: W
UCF: L
USM: W
Tulsa: W
Tulane: W
Navy: W
Houston: L
Rice: W

I think we get it figured out

I agree there's no way with what we have seen in our last 2 games that we can beat or even stay close to the little frogs in FTW.

Not convinced that we get ripped by anyone for the rest of the season. Our D finally started to show something. Our D had to defend against 3 short fields due to turnovers. And our D generated 6 sacks and two crucial turnovers. They completely shut down the run and we didn't have any significant injuries. We have two more games prior to TCU to continue to improve.

The O is another story. We have got to protect the ball better. We can't continue to place our D in such difficult situations. And we need to find some consistency and scoring abilities. Once against we have two weeks to get our act together. And some time to get one of our injured O lineman back. We have no significant injuries and we have two adequate QBs. We need to get healthy and find a QB that moves beyond adequate and towards exceptional.

Oh, and we have got to cut down on penalties.

Hey GeorgiaMustang, are you close enough to Eddie Prinz to see him play a game or 2? Just curious.

Things would have to drastically change in the offense for us to even come close to beating TCU. It could happen if JJ puts Padron back in and things start clicking. But I'm definitely not hopeful of that.

They are coming off a game against LSU, so I doubt they will be intimidating playing a FBS school. We need to come out an establish dominance.

One of the possibilities of playing a team vastly superior in talent (like NSU vs. LSU) is the superior team beats up the inferior team (physically). There is the possibility that NSU is banged up pretty good. Doesn't mean they are not prepared and not fired up, but maybe not 100%.

That said, it is important for our team to come out and play very hard and very disciplined from the beginning. We don't need to blow this team out but we do need to establish dominance and understand how to finish once that dominance is established.
