is to have one or more threads after every game rating the play of the team, offense, defense, WR/ QB, etc. Maybe A-F scale with objective reasons for each. Or a stud/dud scale with objective reasons. While a fan of the game, I'd love to see insight to better appreciate what is actually going on during the game. For instance, it seemed that UTEP was intent on stopping Line from winning the game and packing everyone within 10 yards of the LOS - daring us to throw deep on them...

On the stud/dud scale..
Studs: JGD - obvious on accolades,
Hunt - blocks
Line - yardage, although got really tired by end of game.
2nd half rush defense - negative yardage...
Duds: Kickoff coverage - can't have teams getting to 40 or better or most kickoffs

DR- great idea. However, can you imagine the # of posts that would create? We (posters) can't agree on the QB, the uniform colors, what the coach should and shouldn't wear etc. etc etc.
GO PONIES!!!

Thanks. But the disagreements about quasi-studs, quasi-duds, and neutral (or b, d, and c) is where it gets interesting and informative (assuming we use real facts, not just opinions). For instance, is the problem with the Shoot part of the R&S due to quasi-dud W/R's or quasi-dud-QB's or both or neither? It is obvious that the receivers dropped a couple of long balls from JMcD due to ? (the lights? poor hands? poor placement of the ball?) We obviously miss AR and ES.

Million dollar question - sub par QB play and mediocre WR = not many points. This offense is all about the big plays and I can't remember the last long bomb we've hit or anything over 50 yds?...anyone?

ECU game I think AR caught a pretty long pass. Last game I can remember our offense functioning...

great analysis, now why not just do that rather than the typical [deleted] and moaning. "i want everyone to do more for me".

Really the answer is both, and it can be subtle mistakes by either one on any given play. This is an offense where there can be a successful play but there should have been a touchdown. June had a great example from the utep game where beasly did a good job adjusting his route for a 20 yard game. During the same play, I think it was Holeman, misread the saftey and should have blown by the guy on a deep route. If he does this and JJ sees him and gets him the ball (which i worry about JJ's abhility on deep balls) the play goes from being a nice 20 yard completetion to being 6 points. June's hawaii teams when they were clicking didn't leave plays like this on the field, the reciever would run the correct route and Change or Colt would usually see them and when they did they could get them the ball in a way that let them keep running and score.
