So I was o nthe SMU Mustangs Facebook page. They put up some photos from the utep game. All cool, but it was the first one that caught my eye. A very wide angle shot of the team before kickoff. The team is huddled up, in the center of attention, Kyle Padron. Interesting....

Interesting indeed. I also can't find JJ McD anywhere in the shot. Granted, it is a bit of a "where's waldo" type photo with the angle and all the red jerseys, but surely your starting QB would be somewhere in the middle of the huddle, right? From what I have read, I know Kyle is trying to assert himself as a leader of this team; I just hope he gets a shot to prove himself again on the field. In the meantime, here's hoping JJ can muster more than 1 passing TD (which is all he has through 2 games this year).

It's also exceedingly more difficult to identify players with the silly microscopic TV numbers we have on the horrid new adidas super-stretchy jerseys.

Yes, JJ is the QB, and even though I don't think he is the best QB I hope he kicks all sorts of @ss this weekend. But for all the posts about Kyle pouting about being pulled in College Station, I was happy to see him right in the middle of the action, high-fiving his teammates during the game, and showing some fire on the field. I am hoping it is a sign that he is getting head on right, so that when he hits the field again he is ready to go.
