It is sad though that those students are 1000x more enthusiastic than the average SMU student. Yes I know the student section was full the other night and stayed, but it is still a small portion of the students.

Barley House was packed, I understand, during UTEP game, with the game on little "big" screens outside.

It is a great idea. What exactly is wrong with getting students (international or otherwise) more connected with the team and the football program as a whole? These kids will have a better feel for the game they are watching and likely be much more enthusiastic fans than most of what we have because they have a personal connection with Rice football. Granted, it still Rice football, but I think anything that gets students engaged with the school, its athletics and its traditions is certainly a good idea.

when i was at the tamu game i met an international student watching american football for the first time. he had a great time. this is an untapped resource. at least they are not going to the house after the boulevard to watch another game.

i remember that after going to my first game as a freshman i really felt connected to the university. instead of going to classes we were together for a common cause. most of these kids, us or international, have no idea what they are missing. i nominate klemm to get on this.
