I've noticed recently Eddie Sefko has been penning most of our articles this season, is he our new beat writer? Is he just taking an interest in the Ponies? Either way I like it b/c his articles seem to get more ink than Kate ever could muster.

I think Kate still attends practice and write the blurbs, correct?

You are correct...and today Rick Gosselin writes an article that really is a subset for SMU....

BTW some may not know it-Sefko was the Sports writer for the SMU Daily Campus during the Pony Express days

He was also a writer at the Houston Chronicle for a long time. I believe he came back to Dallas to cover the Mavs? Interesting how he's come full circle covering SMU.

I think the DMN laid off tons of staff recently and the others have gone to ESPN Dallas.

38 throughout the newsroom last week. I'm not sure who from sports, but if you've seen the paper, Kate has been doing quite a bit of Stars coverage for the past week or so.

Sefko is good. Yes, he's an SMU alum. And considering the state of the NBA he may have some extra time on his hands this fall/winter...so it's nice to have him doing pretty solid SMU coverage.
