They may gave planned this a long time ago and did not think of the game. It may have been the only time slot open for reservations.

10+ signs promoting people skipping the football game at this boulevard spot. Unacceptable. If you want to counter-program the game, you shouldn't get the boulevard to advertise it or enjoy.

honestly, i have no problem with this. i wish everyone loved SMU football as much as i do, but i know they don't, so if there are people out there that don't, i hope they are praying to their higher power and that power realizes that they are Mustangs.

I find it ironic how pissed you get at at someone getting free tics but you are ok with someone promoting not going to the game at an event that wouldn't be possible without football...

Different strokes for different folks

Eh, you gotta advertise where the people are. Not going to criticize someone for going to church.

Besides, maybe they knew it'd be over early!

i get where you're coming from, but here's the deal. i spend what i think is a considerable amount of money on my required donation(s), my tickets in 104 & 105, my Westcott parking pass & my Boulevard spot. I do that because i really enjoy SMU football and the gameday experience. I also participate in funding the programs that support giving free tickets to underprivileged youth who want to, but can't afford to, see a college football game.

At the same time, i know there is a whole world outside of my little one that does completely different things. that is fine, it's their business. I have no problem with that.

the issue i think you're referring to was my post earlier about someone who wanted free tickets because they didn't want to spend $45 to buy their own - $45 MEASLY dollars by their own words. so this is someone who wanted to go to the game, and didn't want to spend the money to do so, and even established that it was such a nominal amount that it was petty to them.

in these situations i think that people who have the means should buy a ticket. that was the point i was trying to make earlier.

if you'd rather go see a movie, go right ahead. even if they promote it on the radio in the pregame show.

and for the record, i don't get pissed at people getting free tickets, it frustrates me that people come on here and ask for free tickets.

Bottom line is, they would get better attendance if they advertised today for the event to be held after today.

the whole day is an advertisement for the event today. they can't keep other people from taking advantage of the popularity of the event at hand for their own benefit.

not any different than the little prop plane flying around with a banner overhead. i couldn't see what it was for, but someone was sure trying to market to SMU fans prior to the SMU game.

I love Jesus but don't schedule events for the same time. I'd bet Blake McJunkin would say the same thing.

I agree and that sign and event was blasphemous, IMHO. Reschedule the meeting, for heavens sake.
