FumbleWho fumbled on that last drive in the red zone? Padron? I couldn't tell.
Sent from my iPhone.
Re: Fumblewas a designed option play, on which we are now one of three. Stuffed on 4th down in the bowl game (JJ says if KP pitched instead of kept it wouldve been a TD); TD vs UTEP on the keeper, and a scoop and ninetysomething sprint the other way to the house on the third.
Our two QBs are 6'4 and 6'6. If they're under center-and KP was on this play-I'd rather just snap the ball and reach out over the goal line.
Re: FumbleWas he hit hard, or just a fumble ? Sorry on radio don't remember Rich saying if he was hit or not.
Re: FumbleIn post game show on Ticket, JJ blamed it on substitute O-line, someone hit Kyle causing fumble. I blame the coaches. Why didn't they or Kyle call time out. We had 3 left.
FumbleAfter the timeout SMU ran back onto the field with 9 seconds left on play clock and had to rush. Similar to the time in the first half when SMU called 2 timeouts in a row. Not sure how that happens. Hope I can make it to the luncheon on Monday to see who June blames it on...

Re: FumbleI balme it first on the coaches for not getting the kids out in time and then Padron for not calling a time out. However, calling a time out might have been considered bad taste in a run away game.

Re: FumbleWe just should have kicked the FG, or if they didn't want that, we should have just tried another run. If we get stuffed, they have 99 yards to go with an offense that couldn't get it going tonight. Oh well. Dumb move, but we won. Yeah us!!!

Re: Fumble
That is Jones' fault. He keeps the team on the sideline and sends them back out with 9 secs once and 5 secs another (back to back timeouts if you recall). How many coaches call time out from the sideline. He sees 9 secs on the clock with the 2's in and seemingly lining up wrong, coach calls time out immediately. It was 4th down to boot.
Re: FumbleWe were trying another run which was the proper thing to do. Dropping the ball was the wrong thing to do.

Re: FumbleIt looked like we were either dropping back for a pass or maybe faking a handoff and everyone just ran into each other. It was ugly, whatever it was.
Re: FumbleI'd prefer not to see that again all season
![]() awful execution and why not just kick a FG. Would be nice to have a Tight End for goal line stuff.
Re: FumbleI hope we were not passing. I thought Padron was hurrying due to the play clock and pulled out too quickly. He never had control of the ball
and was trying to hand off to the RB but the ball was too low and they ended up running into each other. It was not the way it is drawn in the playbook I am sure. All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: Fumbleit did sort of look like the Padron was trying to hand it off but hard to tell.
Re: FumbleEven though a FG is less points, it is bad etiquette to kick a Fg in that instance. You just run the ball and give them a chance to stop the score. But it is overkill of hospitality to give them 7 points.

Re: Fumble
Agree with what you say, however, Jones needs to do better with the game clock. Calling back to back timeouts 2 games in a row, and then screwing up 4th down on the goal lime while sending the 2's out to run an ill-conceived option. Coaches on top of their game see the problem and immediately call time out. The Miss St coach ran on to the field against Auburn to call time out. Jones doesn't have a good grasp of clock management. Think Navy first half last year. Clearly on him.
