Memphis hotel helpI have never stayed in Memphis and am looking for a place for Friday. I know lots of folks are at the Peabody which is both sold out and way out of my price range. Does anyone have any other suggestions for a place to stay that is close to the area? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Re: Memphis hotel helpi think there's a hampton inn near beale street. usually those are priced well.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally
Re: Memphis hotel helpFYI, you want to be near Beale street, not near the campus.
or you might be able to find a deal on a casino room just south of town in Tunica. about 25 minute drive. Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally
Re: Memphis hotel helpThere a bunch of motels right across he river in West Memphis.
Long live Inez Perez!
Re: Memphis hotel helpHaving lived there a few years back...Westin downtown...the hotels of Court Square (Marriott Courtyard / Springhill Suites / Comfort Inn), all new, all nice...Doubletree downtown, next to The Peabody...Holiday Inn Crown Plaza...if I were you, go for the Court Square properties...on the trolley line, can walk to Beale, near Felicia Suzannes, Flight, Bar Dog....enjoy Memphis, nice big little town...miss it.
Re: Memphis hotel helpI'm staying at Residence Inn by Mariott which is around the corner from PB. Priceline rate.

Re: Memphis hotel help
This is what you want, for sure. Very close to the Madison hotel, a few blocks from Beale. EDIT: Honestly, there are a decent amount of the standard Marriot/Comfort Inn type hotels in downtown Memphis. Most of them should be good, just shop for the best rate. You absolutely want to be in downtown Memphis though, not more than 2 miles from Beale I'd say. Once you get outside of the downtown Memphis area it gets really spread out so don't be fooled by a hotel saying they are "only" however far from downtown. You want to be in downtown. Otherwise you'll spend money on super sketchy Memphis cab rides (and I mean like I have never been uncomfortable in a cab besides in Memphis sketchy) and it'll end up costing more than just paying the downtown hotel's rate.
