Well at least we have a firm timetable on when all of this will be going down. Should be a very interesting two weeks. My money is still on UT/OU/OSU/Tech going to PAC 16. After that the free-for-all begins.

Texas is like the drop-dead gorgeous girl that everyone wants to be with and be seen with, but only after you are hitched do you find out she is psycho...in this case the 'psycho' metaphor is the LHN. While UT explored Big 10 and ACC partnerships and was welcomed at first by the parties involved, they found out quickly that the insistance on the 300 million dollar independence demanded by Texas to keep rights to the LHN too much to stomach.

Nebraska was just the first to get fed up. A&M was the notable second. Now the 'Horns are having trouble finding folks who will be willing to take them with this 'psycho' clause intact.
The PAC-whatever may well do it, but the leverage point is definitely with the buyer, not the seller here. If the Longhorns go to the PAC-12, see if the negotiation doesn't back-door hinge on wheter they have to carry Tech with them...

Be sure Texas will land somewhere, and in good condition. But the LHN has not turned out to be the boon that it first appeared to be, and may just be the STD that a conference endures with having Texas as your 'girlfirend'

Isn't that announcement kind of like the auctioneer yelling 'going once, going twice' . Last chance to place your bids.

GO PONIES!!!

I still find it laughable that people chide UT for taking $300 million.

wouldn't chide them a bit. Matter of fact, good on them, wish it was SMU. The point is the LHN
has become an albatross around UT's neck in the negotiation process (albeit a really NICE albatross)
