From team press release:
The Dallas Cowboys released cornerback Bryan McCann today. The club re-signed wide receiver Laurent Robinson.

As if there was any need for more reason to hate the Cowboys. Cornerback is a position where Mike Jenkins is hobbling through injuries, Terence Newman is out, Orlando Scandrick is mediocre and out, and Alan Ball is just awful ... and they cut McCann?

dez bryant is hurt. miles austin is out for several weeks. given that their starters this week might be jesse holley and kevin ogletree, they really needed a WR. i'm guessing that newman is playing this weekend or i don't think they would make this move.
i think they will re-sign mccann after this week's game.

Since he was on the roster at the start they are on the hook for his whole years salary, I think.
I wonder if after Newman and Scandrick get back they release the new corner and bring McCann back.

He is going to love playing for the Giants. The Giants don't have any defensive backs. And he already proved he plays well in the Meadowlands.

It doesn't void his Nike deal. Endorsement deals are with individual players, not teams.

Heard Jason Garretts press conference today. He said they really didn't want to cut him but were left with no other choice due to injuries.
