Memphis Discussion

I know many are concerning themselves with the re-alignment talk, but we do have a game on saturday. I know Memphis is bad this year, but we need take them seriously and win big like last week. I promise you this it will not be a simply offense they through out there saturday. They still have speed and a mobile QB, which always gives us fits.

Plus, we know JJMcD is starting, but do we still play with both. At some point the offense need continuity, and while i want KP to play its always better to go with one QB than two.

Lastly, our defense i think has awakened and is playing up to their ability, but when do the outside WRs and OL pull their head out of each others butts. I need them to dominate upfront and WRs to show their real speed and play faster.

Memphis blows. We should win by 20 plus regardless of who plays QB.

SMU 41
Memphis 10

run until they prove they can stop it...then shoot.

Memphis is as weak defensively as any CUSA team we will play this year.

This game should be last Saturday redux...

Try to get passing game going before TCU and lots of Zach Line.
We should win convincingly.

ON THE ROAD? Wow.

I disagree that the defense is playing up to its capability. It has improved, to be sure, but I wouldn't say it has reached optimum efficiency. Seems to have gotten better each week.

That said, I don't see any conference game being a complete pasting. Put me down for:

SMU 35
Memphis 13

(although ultimately, winning is all that matters!)

Will be closer than people think, but we still get a W and stay healthy and that's all that matters. SMU 28-21.

What little I have seen of Memphis on TV indicates that they have QB issues. Inconsistency on the offense side and a great opportunity for our D.

They obviously started the year struggling on D as well. As with NSU, this presents an opportunity for both our O and D to improve and gain some consistency. Once again, execute on both sides of th ball and the score will take care of itself.

One big area to improve is the turnovers. We are not taking care of the ball at all.
