Something tells me that the horns hate the idea of 4 16 team superconferences because they hate the idea of going down the road to a national playoff system. They also hate the idea of having to play in a conference championship game. I'm beginning to think that they may try to salvage the Big 12 by giving in a little bit on the LHN.

FYI - Deloss Dodds & the B12 were one of two conferences to vote in favor of a playoff when the BCS was setup a decade ago.

I agree. I think they fear going to the superconference format.

True. But that was before they saw how much money would be thrown their way during the ensuing years without the playoff system.

Even then, the proposed playoff guaranteed more money than the BCS.
