Conference Invitations

All the speculation of SMU drifting around the edges really irks me. The NCAA needs to grow a pair somehow. The first thing they need to do with SMU is have a AQ conference extend an invite. Frankly they owe it to SMU. Ever since the DP I have traveled around the country and hear from all types of college football fans how SMU got screwed. Literally ever little college program has been protected by their fans and local worship media. I keep hearing from programs how they were "way worse" than SMU. Every one was playing by the same set of rules, no matter what they profess. The reason for the events, severe jealousy, success and SMU having a 'non compliant media" market. Consequently we became a sacrificial lamb to be made an example of while even worse offenders chuckled and laid low for a minute in the shadows. There were and still are huge offenders. All throughout the SEC, Nebraska, Texas and any university in a college town environment. What was called the "Earl Campbell rule". The one where the player can no longer sell his alloted tickets for $2K per seat per game (did UT get trouble for that?). All the cars, false jobs, apartments, payroll, get out of jail free cards, you name it. Al those BasZZZZerds owe something to SMU for being thrown on the sword. At a minimum an invite to an AQ. At a maximum a check for all the revenue lost over the years, an apology and AQ status.

Yeah I am still PO'd especially when we look like we are hunting for crumbs.

We had over 20 years to climb out of the hole we created. Hell, TCU did it. We have no one to blame but ourselves about the situation we're in today. No one owes us anything unfortunately, and that's not how the politics regarding realignment will ever work.

hpsmufan- Two comments. First I couldn' agree more with you and am probably more incensed about what happened to us than you can imagine. Something I will never forget and never ever forgive.
Second- you have probably just incited the wrath of our local orange-blood who will proceed to tell us how bad we were and that it didn't matter what the other did. Especially the whorens.

GO PONIES!!!

He never says it did not matter what the others did. We were FAR worse than the others.

So- if you rob a big national bank or a small national bank you still break the law- right?
If we paid our players more than a&m or the whorens they were still cheating just like we were. They just always made it a point to rat us out because they couldn't stand getting whipped by a little private school.

GO PONIES!!!
