Turf 'n Lights Problems

Postby RockStang » Tue Sep 20, 2011 11:44 pm

What's with the complaints about the new slippery turf at Ford? Who would authorize and get approval for crappy stadium turf? Surely the Obama administration hasn't infiltrated SMU yet. Plus the lights location inhibiting the passing game-although that was done years ago-doesn't someone do a little due diligence on this stuff?

Turf problems were identified the very first day practice was conducted on the field. Explanation was that it was new and would be ok after a short period of time. I am not aware of the brand of turf so I cannot research its use elsewhere or judge its break in time. Does any one know the brand and history of the turf? I have been on several new turf fields in the past 2 years including the new Giant's stadium and there have been no complaints from day one.

I have not noticed a bad turf problem. Zach slipped all over the other night but said he was trying out new cleats. He changed back to his old ones at half and said there was no more problem. Other than that and an occasional slip that happens anywhere at anytime, I think the turf is ok.
