Just posted this on Orangebloods. If no BYU, who would be their next logical target?

Here is the synopsis:
"per espnaustin.com he said he just got off of the phone with a high level source and BYU would not be the 10th school.
He said they are looking at the big east for expansion
Chips latest tweet
While some Big 12 sources see BYU as a target, source close to situation says its "doubtful" BYU would want to join volatile B12 right now"

This could swing for us if big east collapses....Maybe just maybe TCU, Houston, SMU, all end up same place...

i still don't see it. unless BE gets poached and tries to string something together like a western division including us.
BigTX isn't going to have any more in state schools.

As a sidenote, Baylor continues to amaze me. They just seem to catch every break.

The only hope I can see for us, TCU, and Houston would be if the reworked Big XII truly does take a lot of power away from Texas and schools like OU, OSU, Baylor, etc, see the benefit of regional schools as opposed to expanding tv markets. Of course the chance of this happening is so slim that I just wasted everyone's time by writing this.

Best chance right now is that TCU decides it wants no part of a teetering Big East and goes back to MWC with Boise to create what will be an AQ conference in a couple of years.
I think there is a decent chance SMU and UH could end up there, but they could very well want another team over SMU.
Whatever happens, happens. I'm tired of this crap.

Agree! BE is about to be raided and TCU knows it. TCU+SMU+Houston+? to MWC provides stability (and likely a AQ) over next five years (until the next big movement).
...and I agree, I'm just tired of it.
and probably enough Texas TV presence to keep the networks happy.
