Big 12 Commish

Postby Dwan » Wed Sep 21, 2011 2:31 pm

Obviously there is going to be a new one soon. Would be nice to have somebody who is pro-SMU. How about Geroge W. Bush!! He wants his library to be at a BCS school!

confirmed that Beebe is out. Former Big Eight commissioner Chuck Neinas is the likely replacement on an interim basis - call it 1-2 years. Someone has mentioned him on here already but I cannot find it. Unfortunately, the person that I believe is the likely candidate to ultimately run the conference is very much pro-TCU.

We have all done consulting work for NTSU. Perhaps because it has been pro bono they have yet to take our advice.

So, stop me if I'm wrong, and I don't think it matters in the least, but wouldn't it be good to have a guy who's pro-TCU? Hmm, let's think, TCU is a small, private, religiously affiliated school in the DFW metroplex that was left out of the Big 12 initially and is trying to get back to the top of the mountain...sounds kind of familiar, no?

Might as well be pro-TCU because they ain't taking SMU over TCU. Maybe they'd take both, because I don't buy the WVU, AFA, Memphis crap. If 25% of the DFW population watched an SMU or a TCU game, that's already more "viewers" than the entire state of West Virginia could give you if 100% of the population watched a Big 12 match. Memphis is one of the five worst FBS programs and has made zero commitment to building a successful program. Why on earth would Utah leave the Pac-12 for the most dysfunctional conference in all of sports?

I am not worried about UNT. But I know who is lobbying hard for the long term job (has spoken directly to Castiglione & Dodds today) and he has strong ties to TCU.

Right, so, who cares? I'd rather have him be pro-TCU than anti-TCU because we AREN'T getting in there over them.
