UTEP may not be as bad as we thought

They are 2-1, I know the wins were against lesser teams but NMSU did beat a Big 10 team a week earlier.

My main point is that statistically they are not bad. Of the NCAA team stat summary, they are in the top half in 9 of 17 categories.

UTEP has some talent and I very much liked their starting QB. Price is a wiley old fox and I think he will win a couple of games where coaching will make the difference. Not sure that they are bowl bound.

They're terrible and we should have destroyed them.

Memphis is even worse and we should destroy them. I don't care that it's on the road.

i thought UTEP had some good athletes - they certainly had size everywhere. Should have beat them worse - but better then we think i would guess

Memphis is in the bottom quarter in 10 of 17 categories.

I agree...UTEP is possibly worse than we thought.

They gave up 410 yards to Stony Brook - at home.
UTEP starting QB went 9-28 against New Mex State with 0 TDs and 1 INT. NMSU got inside UTEP's 5 yard line 3 times and came away with just 3 points. UTEP needed 3 FGs (2 over 40 yds) and a 60 yd fake punt to win the game.

I can summarize TCU's feelings in one word....

PANIC

Majority opinion seems to be that we would have to go Big 12-3 if an offer comes - this is my position as well. However, there are quite a few fans who would prefer to stay Big East to stay away from TX..and I can agree with that as well. However, if TCU passes up an offer then Big 12-3 will just go down the list and pick up Louisville or someone else, further weakening the BE. I don't see any scenario where we go back to MWC unless BE just completely blows up (which is still possible as well). So, I am guessing BE adds Navy, AFA, ECU, UCF and maybe one more to get to 12. That's what I would do.

I would say there is controlled panic...

PonyGrad, I guess you missed the pillowfight saturday night between New Mexico State/UTEP. That was two really bad football teams. I watched thinking UTEP would run all over NMSU, I was wrong..

I gave my reasons and I stand by them.
