Go back and watch some of his highlights from his junior season at Troup HS. That kid is extremely explosive. Reminds me a lot of Aldrick. Hopefully we can start getting a little more production from guys other than Beasley and DJ.

Makes you wonder though..we have one of the best players from 5a John Tyler, and the same from 2a troup from the same season ..aside from diff in speed, what distinguishes Thompson from j Johnson ?

I think Der'Rikk would have been much more highly recruited had he not suffered the ACL injury in his first game his senior year.

Don't like that Holman is hurt, but this is a good thing. Hopefully they have been launching deep balls to him all week in practice...

June Jones said Thursday that Holman likely wouldn't play — "maybe in an emergency" — and said he has been very impressed with Der'Rikk Thompson's progress.

Let's hope it is "good" playtime and not bad playtime this week. This staff loves the speed on the outside. If you told them they could have Usain Bolt and he couldn't catch he would be starting next game with two or three of the coaches coaching him each play from the sideline! Thompson has the potential and just needs to play and have some success and he will be fine...so will Jeremy for that matter. Hard to get confidence when you don't play though. Who knows what a kid can do until under the bright lights. Lots of kids can look good in 7 on 7.
