is it realy the first shut out since the dp wow. I kep saying the def is the star of this years team and thats good DEF wins championships

Defense (so far) has been outstanding, has made the fact that out offense coughs up the ball so much irrelevant.

SMU shut out Hawaii Oct. 3, 1998: 28-0.
Also shut out UTEP, 30-0, Nov. 9, 1996.
So today was the third.

Also 'just so you know':
The shutouts by Houston and SMU marked the first time since Sept. 9, 2000 that two C-USA football teams had shutouts on the same day.
