Rishad Wimbley

Postby kent dorfman » Sun Sep 25, 2011 3:13 am

Didn't get to see the game today but from the box score I saw he had 7 carries for 29 yards.

Did he...get moved to RB???

He's listed at 6'1", 295!!!

I know June likes to have some big kids back there but my goodness that's one biggin' of a running back!!!
Larry Brown? We have Larry Brown? Cool!

there was an article in the DMN last week saying JJ wanted to work him in at RB.

got 4 carries yesterday and fumbled once. I would assume it's all part of getting him prepared for goal line opportunities when we hit the meat of our schedule

have to get him some reps & yards so that when we do roll him in, teams don't just cheat off the run b/c they think he's there just to block.

I saw him when ran with the ball and he seems to be pretty smooth and hits the hole pretty fast. He sure does not look like he weighs 290.

I think Rishad is down to 265lbs. now. He looks quick, but his fumble in the red zone was disappointing. He certainly doesn't look ready to play. I just wish Jered Williams would get more carries as I think he is ready to go if need be. If Zack goes down, I just don't see Wimbley starting now.

He isn't down to 265 pounds ....he wishes. I found it interesting that Rashad, who can bench press 450 pounds ( still think that is incredible for a 17 year old in high school!) had the ball ripped from his grasp too.

Not to be negative, but he has had two fumbles in two games on limited duty. If JJ treated him like padron, he would be done for the season (joke). I am with Stallion and wished they had redshirted him. Since he hasn't been redshirted, we will surely see more of him as the year goes on.

I would like to see more of Williams, though he may have missed a block on the DJ touchdown that got McD hit pretty good. Williams looks like a productive back up for Line. Between Wimbley and Williams, we have two decent back ups.
