http://collegesportsblog.dallasnews.com ... -join.htmlThe Southeastern Conference says Texas A&M is set to be join the league next year.
The SEC announced Sunday that the move will be effective next July, and says Texas A&M will participate in all sports during the 2012-13 academic year. That gives the SEC 13 members and its first addition since South Carolina and Arkansas in 1992.
The Aggies' defection from the Big 12 had been held up with threatened legal action from Baylor and other schools. The statement released by the SEC did not mention that situation, and spokesman Charles Bloom did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

I really expect the SEC to end up bringing someone in from the east so they don't have to think about breaking up Alabama/Auburn for geography.
I expect they make a run at Fla State or Va Tech and can always fall back on Clemson
ACC backfills with UConn or Rutgers or USF or W.Virgina - either one or three
TCU is not happy when all is said and done.

Good riddance. BTW, is SMU's deal with TAMU a 1:1 or a 2:1?

We play are supposed to play them in 2013 at Kyle and 2014 at ford. Not sure how that is going to workout if they are going to cancel the game next year.

Also now with aggy going to the SEC they will move their ooc game with arky to a conference game. they will also have an extra ooc game because the sec only plays 8 conference games when the big 12 plays 9. They still have a game that they haven't filled OOC yet. So if they cancel on us they will have to fill four nonconference games. Maybe our chances of the game getting cancelled has decreased since it can be quite hard to come up with that many games to play.

USF or WVU in the ACC? Are pigs flying in the over in the Palmetto State, CP? I don't see UVA, UNC, Duke, Wake, etc. in favor of adding either of those schools. Far more likely that WVU goes to SEC, IMO.

Rumor is FSU is conducting their own in-house study to see which conference would be best for them. If they decide the SEC and go tap Slive on the shoulder, the rest of the conference might go to UF and ask them to take one for the team.
But for right now that 14th school is a complete wildcard.
