waiting for godot

something will happen this wk, maybe today, that will define our conference affiliation.
i am prepared for the worst but hoping for a miracle.

i guess the best is that we get in the big 12 or big east.
the worst is that we stay where we are and await another realignment.
in the middle is the mwc cusa merger-whatever that turns out to be. a few teams or 22.

the big 12 could raid the big east and destroy that conference.
mizzou could go to the sec opening up more spots in the big 12.
too many possibilities.

i'm not saying i hope t bone falls on his head but i'm not sayin i hope he doesn't either.

I truly believe that UT has just about completed their mission. To be the only BCS football team in the state of Texas. All they have left is to shed TT and Baylor and mission accomplished. It would be wise for the other conferences to expand and expand into Texas. Our best hope is for the Big 12 - 3 - 1 - ? to implode and for the BE to be raided into extinction, then and only then, will the other conferences CUSA and MWC be able to realign, merge, expand, etc. to BCS status.

You have to break from UT, they have a mission.

I think it's safe to say that the lil12 is gone for us. No expansion in Texas as announced by them & it does make sense to some extent.

It's now time for SMU to move on to other avenues of joining the cartel through a C-USA/Mountain Goat merger, the Big Least, or independence (like BYU) with 10-yr agreements for scheduling & bcs-BS bowl qualifying.

The important thing is that we HAVE to think 'out of the box' if we're going to be successful so my bets are on SO to make it happen.

Should be interesting.

I guess you mean the only BCS team in the Big 12. Don't think A$M lost their BCS status moving to the SEC.

I stand corrected. Yes, the only Big 12 school in the state. I know TAM still has BCS status in the SEC. UT has put themselves in the best recruiting environment in the country.

Tuesday can't get here quick enough.

actually a&m put themselves in the best recruiting position in the state. If you want to go pro and stay in state, you now go to aggie.
