Zach is truly an elite college player. Tough, smart, and willing to leave it all out there every week for his team. Great kid and a great story. Thank God we have him next year!

If you limit it to the 25 running backs with 70 or more carries (rather than 60 as above,) Zach is #3 in the nation in YPC.

Do you guys think Zach Line playing another year will be a problem with RB prospect Brandon Hamilton? Hamilton looks like a total stud. He seems to be flying under the radar for some reason. The coaching staff is actively recruiting him so it'll be interesting if this hurts or helps SMU's recruitment.

JJ always says the best players will play. if Hamilton isn't afraid of competition, and if he really is a stud, he should have nothing to worry about. if he is worried about competition, he will have problems wherever he goes. If he has goals of playing in the NFL, he would be hard-pressed to find a coaching staff to help him get his foot in the door at that level. if he performs at this level.
plus, 'total studs' that cannot learn how to block effectively will not make it at this level or the next. so, being willing and able to learn how to be a complete back will be essential.
just my $.02.

No, dad. Zach as a senior won't be a problem.

This is where you see the June Jones genius. How many other college teams would have Zach playing running back? (Of course that begs the question whether Line would have been *even better* as a linebacker).

True. I think you have to to have success with the level of talent available. Remember that TCU has not been recruiting at the same level their national rankings would suggest.
Anyway, I stick by the assertion that June is very, very good at the out of the box identification of talent. Guys like Margus Hunt, a complete reach by anyone's definition, really make you look like a genius.

Hunt wasnt a reach...he was a lucky find...
He would have been asked to play at any school in the country with his measurable, we got lucky he got here and we got rid of track, and need a scholarship...
Please stop the sucking...

Did we even offer Hamilton at RB?
