http://www.dallassportsrant.com/2011/09 ... t-preview/"A rivalry that’s often overlooked on a national scale is finally working its way towards the spotlight.
With TCU’s rise to national prominence over the last decade and SMU’s return from the dead to be a Conference USA contender, both teams have a lot to gain by winning this game."

Something tells me we have a little more to gain by winning than they do.

Shouldn't this go on the Non-Realignment Board?

Probably, but that doesn't mean TCU doesn't have anything to gain. Consistently beating a cross-town rival helps with recruiting, not to mention they'll still only have one loss. In a season that's been shaky at best so far, beating a rival can help stabilize some things.

They didn't double cover against Baylor, they won't against us...Beasley or no.

TCU utilizes 5 DBs in their basic defensive formation so they have that option.

They had to account for RG3 against Baylor. He makes it a lot harder to double team anyone. I'm not sure who they would double cover against us.

Yep, something tells me McD doesn't scare TCU outside of the pocket like RG3 did. They will defend us much differently.

The writer calls SMU's defense "soft." I don't agree with that. In fact, I believe the SMU defense will be the best defense that TCU has yet faced this season. Baylor gave up 48 points to the Frogs and 31 to Rice, so I'm not willing to give their defense very much credit at this point.
I'm not saying that our defense will shut TCU down. They have a good quarterback and a lot of offensive weapons. But I think we have as good a chance as anyone the Frogs have played this year to slow them down.

He sure doesn't think much of our defense. 41 points? So he feels TCU's O is as good as A$Ms' O? What if we don't hand TCU three gift turnovers like we did A$M early in the game?
Granted, he may be giving our O more credit than it deserves. 31 points has been a rarity when we actually have a decent defense to play against (regardless of QB).
We are about 2 TD underdog in this one and probably that is an accurate estimate. But I do believe our D is better than giving up 41 points and our kick blocking skills could alter game strategy.
And if we can fianlly eliminate turnover (doubt our D can create any) we give ourselves a chance.
