According to the rivals rankings

Ahead of teams such as Georgia, Penn State, Texas Tech, Miami, Ohio State and Iowa. Just behind Houston. We have come far that we are just out of the top 25 in week 5.

SDSU is #47. So I guess not everyone agrees with Gary Patterson that they are better than us.

Teams we play
Southern Miss- #63 (surprised they are ranked so low)
UCF-#73
Rice-#102
Tulane-#100
Tulsa-#58
Navy-#55
Houston-# 31

Teams we played
Memphis- #117
UTEP-#96
TCU-#44
A&M-#26

immediately after the game, i said i want them to win out to make this win more important in the national eye, but after the way that imbecile acted, i home the SDSU QB shreds them to pieces, and he's capable of it.

We still need a solid win against a solid opponent for me to believe we belong in the upper tier of college football. UCF, defending conference champs, should fill that need very well. 5-1 is impressive over 3 solid opponents and two other conference opponent. Sets us up for a really good season worthy of the national attention we are now receiving. I fear the big head and a letdown against UCF which would be disastrous to our national attention at this point.

Only 7 slots away from being in the top 25.
