on tony barnhart tonight he indicated that smu should drop the idea of going to the big 12 and come on over to the sec. pretty good stuff coming from him since he is very tied to the sec.

Seriously? weird. He's a big CBS guy if I'm not mistaken, I would think he might have some inside access/info to the SEC higher ups

He's Mr SEC-I'm shocked he said that. Great publicity

Would like to hope for this, but Junes comments to Norm today were not encouraging. he said it was headed to 4x16 and that SMU had a very small chance of being included. I took him at his word, but on second thought if he really believed that, why would he say it? And, why would he even be here if he believed it? Hmmm, maybe the zen master was messing with Norm and us. Maybe it was coach speak, just a guy talking down his team and fan expectations when he knows he has a little something in his back pocket.
Unfortunately like Freeman said in Shawshank, hope is a dangerous thing. Especially true of being an SMU fan in realignment.

I'm fully aware I may sound like a moron.... but who is Tony Barnhart?
I feel like I only hear about that Paul Finebaum guy and the SEC

i love June - but he has been known to be clueless about things that are not right in his wheelhouse. I think the 4x16 is not the likely outcome. that is not enough teams for the cameras - they want more coverage for more dough.

i think 5x14 is much better for the leagues individually (WAC proved 16 is a problem) and for college football's overall health, but June is not the only guy saying 4x16. Jackie Sherrill was on the radio saying it not long ago. It seem like these guys are parroting what they are hearing inside the coaching network.
