Pony Fans, which one do you think is the best fit for our SMU Mustangs, the Big East or the Big 12 or staying where we are?

Do we have a choice in the matter? If we had all three options in a perfect world, I'd say go for the Big XII. It may be dysfunctional, but I think the regional rivalries would be great for our program.

my vote would be for the big12. be like getting most of the band back together.

i think we'd be more successful in the big east, especially if tcu stays. would be nice to have an easy W on the schedule...

no question-Big 12-we need attendance from other schools to fill stadium and it would give us great access to top Texas recruits who likely don't really care much about Rugers, UCONN or USF

Not to mention "Fun with Fatterson" the following week.

I agree also that the Big 12 would be our best fit for the ponies and all our programs.

we have a serious issue now with TCU going to the Big12 without us. The urgency level just tripled and it was already urgent.

At least we can count on Gary PAtterson doing his best to help us get in, right?

They were going without us. A SEC mention and a Big East mention inflated your expectations.

Assuming the BE maintains its AQ status (which admittedly is a big concern), I prefer the BE. While I love the regional rivalries in the Big12, the Big12 will always continue to be a the whim of 2 teams. If the BE adds a few teams, they can stabilize.

I dont see as Big of an attendance issue with the BE as some. Certainly we couldn't expect a huge following of BE fans in Ford, but our prospects of being consistently ranked with a very strong W-L record are much higher in the BE as is are our chances of going to a BCS game. When these things start to occur, we will have very strong attendance with our own fans.
